NAVSEA, the headquarters of the Naval Sea Systems Command, is a highly secure facility where the work being done is mostly classified.

Reporters who know NAVSEA told Politico that it's "kind of amazing" that yesterday's shooting happened there, because it's a highly secured area where "you're either known or watched."

NAVSEA has an annual budget of nearly $30 billion and is the largest of the Navy's system commands. It's responsible for designing, buying, building and maintaining ships.
