For the first time in its 155-year history, Macy's is opening its doors on Thanksgiving, joining Target, Kohl's and other major retail outlets.

Many stores are opening at 8 p.m., and the National Retail Federation estimates 33 million people will go shopping after their Thanksgiving dinners.

Bloomberg Businessweek reporter Duane Stanford joins Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti to discuss the trend toward Thankgsiving day shopping, and what it means — if anything — for their bottom line.
