Illinois Governor To Release Election Year Budget
ResumeIllinois' Democratic governor Pat Quinn delivers his budget message tomorrow, and the spending plan he outlines will play a role in his re-election bid against Republican businessman Bruce Rauner.
Quinn has to decide whether to extend an income tax hike that's supposed to expire in 2015 or make deep and politically unpopular budget cuts.
Rauner say the tax increase should not be extended, but he hasn't detailed his plan to deal with the multi-billion dollar budget gap that would open up if the tax hike isn't extended.
