The number of confirmed dead in the March 22 slide in Washington state now stands at 21.

Another four bodies were found yesterday, but they won't be added to the official count until the medical examiner receives them. Thirty people remain missing.

Searchers should get some relief today as weather conditions improve.

Meanwhile, in Colorado, the mountain snow pack will begin melting soon, and this year, that raises fears of flooding.

Back in September, torrential rains caused flooding and landslides there, killing eight people and damaging or destroying 18,000 homes.

Now, the race is on to prevent mountain runoff from resulting in a repeat of September.
