National Spelling Bee Ends In Rare Tie

For the first time in more than 50 years, the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee declared two winners Thursday night.

Sriram Hathwar, an eighth grader from Painted Post, New York, and Ansun Sujoe, a seventh grader from Fort Worth, Texas, each received a trophy and seemed happy to share the glory.

Sriram's championship word was "stichomythia" and Ansun's was "feuilleton."
