British Phone-Hacking Scandal Brought To A Close

In the fall of 2010, the scandal involving the phone-hacking of celebrities, including members of the royal family, in Rupert Murdoch’s British media empire grabbed headlines.

Now, after an eight-month trial, the former editor of News of the World, Andy Coulson, was found guilty of conspiracy to hack personal voicemails. His predecessor, who later became chief executive of News International, Rebekah Brooks, was acquitted of all charges.
