Cochran And Rangel Deny Challengers In First Round Of Elections
ResumeYesterday’s nationally-watched primary elections proved to be good for incumbents: Six-term Republican senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi managed a win over his Tea Party-backed challenger Chris McDaniel, in a tight runoff race.
In the New York House races, Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel beat state Sen. Adriano Espaillat by a narrow margin, while Republican Rep. Richard Hanna successfully defended against state Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney.
