Violence Continues Through Government Standstill In Iraq

A United Nations report has called June the deadliest month in Iraq in the past year and a half, and there seems to be no end in sight.

As ISIS, now the self-proclaimed Islamic State, continues to hold the city of Mosul and sets its sights on Baghdad, Iraqi parliamentary talks to set up a new government ended in disarray yesterday, with no conclusion reached.

NPR’s Alice Fordham joins Here & Now's Robin Young to discuss the latest developments in Iraqi politics and security.
