In the aftermath of the crash of the Malaysia Airlines jet in eastern Ukraine, the main question is: why did the plane crash?

Ukrainians say it was hit by a missile fired by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine. U.S. officials believe that it was a missile but are not saying who fired it. But what does the evidence show so far?
