On Monday's social media roundup we look at how the news is filtering through social media, and the story of the Sydney hostage situation has gotten interesting reaction on social media, including the hashtag #illridewithyou.

That was said to be inspired after a posting from a young Sydney woman named Rachael Jacobs, who wrote on Facebook about her encounter with a Muslim woman earlier in the day after news of the hostage situation had come out.

The Muslim woman started to remove her head covering, presumably so that people in public would not identify her as a Muslim.  Here's Jacobs post: "...and the (presumably) Muslim woman sitting next to me on the train silently removes her hijab," Ms. Jacobs wrote. "I ran after her at the train station. I said 'put it back on. I'll walk with u.' She started to cry and hugged me for about a minute - then walked off alone."

We also look at the weekend marches in numerous cities across the country, after the separate deaths of two unarmed black men at the hands of police officers. Mashable editor Annie Colbert joins Here & Now's Robin Young to discuss these topics.
