President Obama defended the Affordable Care Act in a speech to the Catholic Health Association on Tuesday, saying that the health law is working in every state in the country to increase the number of people who have health insurance.

His remarks come as the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to issue a much-anticipated ruling this month on the legality of ACA subsidies that more than 6 million people receive in 34 mainly Republican-led states that opted not to set up their own state marketplaces to buy insurance.

How might the Supreme Court rule, and what happens if the court overturns the federal exchanges?
