Play
Presidential candidates competed for delegates in 13 states, including Virginia, Oklahoma and Texas, in last night’s “Super Tuesday” primaries and caucuses. Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson speaks with NPR’s Domenico Montanaro about the results and record turnout for the Republicans.
Montanaro reports that Republican turnout shattered records in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Virginia. On the Democratic side, every state was off from 2008 turnout highs, including Vermont, Sen. Bernie Sanders’ home state.
