It's the peak of fall foliage color in much of the northeastern U.S. — and it is gorgeous.

Two reporters with Here & Now contributor North Country Public Radio decided to go deep in their search for the most beautiful autumn scenery. Brian Mann and David Sommerstein trekked more than 12 miles into a wild corner of New York's Adirondack Mountains. Here's their audio postcard.
