President Trump makes his first trip to New Hampshire as president Monday, to release new steps for addressing the opioid addiction crisis. The plan reportedly will call for reducing the prescription rate of opioids, more access to treatment and tougher penalties.

Here & Now's Robin Young discusses the plan and presidential politics in New Hampshire with NH1 reporter Paul Steinhauser (@steinhauserNH1).

Correction: President Trump called New Hampshire a "drug-infested den" in leaked transcripts of a phone call with the Mexican president last year. In our noon ET broadcast Monday, we incorrectly stated that Trump used the phrase on the 2016 campaign trail. We regret the error.

This segment aired on March 19, 2018.
