As we head into Super Tuesday with Sen. Bernie Sanders as the front-runner, some Democrats concerned about his rise are comparing him to George McGovern, the South Dakota senator who became the party's 1972 nominee and was then trounced by Richard Nixon in the general election.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Derek Thompson (@DKThomp), senior editor at the Atlantic. Thompson writes that while Sen. Sanders is a lot like McGovern, "America in 2020 is not America in 1972. And Donald J. Trump is no Richard M. Nixon."

This segment aired on March 2, 2020.
