Remembering A Miami Nurse Who Died From COVID-19 Complications

Nurses at hospitals across the country are holding demonstrations to call for more protection when treating patients with COVID-19.

This comes after nurses have been infected with the virus and others have died from complications including Araceli Buendia Ilagan, a nurse manager in the surgical intensive care unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

Here & Now's Robin Young speaks with Vicki Gonzalez, who is a registered nurse at Jackson Memorial and vice president of SEIU Local 1991, a labor union that represents nurses, doctors and other health care professionals in the Jackson Health System.
