NASCAR fans won't be able to fly the Confederate flag at races anymore. The stock-car racing association announced the ban Wednesday, saying the flag "runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry."

Bubba Wallace, NASCAR's only full-time Black driver, celebrated the move by wearing an “I can't breathe” shirt and driving a car painted with Black Lives Matter art. But at least one other driver, Ray Ciccarelli, announced he's leaving the sport over the change.

Host Robin Young speaks with Here & Now sports analyst Mike Pesca. He hosts the daily podcast The Gist.

This segment aired on June 11, 2020.
