Senators are trying to reach a final deal this week on a gun violence bill, which would expand background checks for people between 18 to 21 years old and give incentives to states to pass so-called red flag laws to take guns from potentially dangerous people.

Here & Now's Celeste Headlee speaks with Rebecca Pringle, president of the National Education Association, which represents three million educators, about what educators think about the plan.

This segment aired on June 20, 2022.
