Southwest Airlines to end open seating

Southwest Airlines will soon end open seating on its flights. In its announcement Thursday morning, the airline said sometime next year, customers will be able to select their seats and upgrade to seats with extra legroom. Open seating has been a part of the Southwest experience for more than 50 years.
