Romney Judge a Campaign Issue?

Governor Deval Patrick is calling for a review of the decision to release a Massachusetts convict who's now charged with murdering a Washington state couple earlier this month.

Patrick said on Monday that he wanted to determine whether there were 'gaps in the system' when Superior Court judge Kathe Tuttman released convicted killer Daniel Tavares in July.

It's a legal case that's now also an issue on the campaign trail. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is facing criticism for his appointment of the judge involved.

So, to look at both the legal and political ramifications, WBUR's Delores Handy turns to David Frank. He's a former prosecutor, now a Senior News Reporter with Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

This program aired on November 27, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
