BPS Headquarters Moving To Roxbury This Week

This is February vacation week for schools across Massachusetts.

But for school administrators in Boston, it's moving week.

Some 500 Boston Public Schools employees are moving from their downtown offices to the new school headquarters in Dudley Square.

They're moving into the recently completed Bruce Bolling Municipal Center.

The new city building at the geographic center of Boston is named after late City Councilor Bruce Bolling.

His widow, Joyce Ferriabough-Bolling, says she's proud the building is the centerpiece of a larger plan to revitalize a once-vibrant section of Roxbury.

"Bruce was about building human capital," she said. "He was about supporting people."

The entire school headquarters move is scheduled to be completed early next month.
