A week of gay pride celebrations culminated Saturday with the 45th annual Boston Pride Parade from Copley Square to City Hall Plaza.

The parade, which began under the hot sun at noon, finished with a festival at City Hall Plaza.

City and state politicians joined the paraders, including Mayor Marty Walsh and Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, the nation's first openly gay state attorney general.

The 45th parade comes as gay rights advocates await what could be a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the constitutionality of same-sex marriage. The decision is expected this month.
