Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is among about 60 mayors from across the globe who are meeting in the Vatican this week. They're rallying around the issue of climate change, prior to the United Nations climate talks in Paris later this year.

Pope Francis told the group he is hoping that U.N. members will make a priority of fighting human trafficking, which exploits the world's most vulnerable people, and global warming.

Ray Flynn, a former mayor of Boston and former U.S. ambassador to the Vatican, joins All Things Considered to discuss the conference.

This segment aired on July 21, 2015.
