Three months after a series of gas explosions devastated people in the Merrimack Valley, most residents will be able to spend the remainder of the holiday season in their homes with heat, hot water and gas for cooking.

Columbia Gas says service has been restored to about 98 percent of customers in the region.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Gov. Charlie Baker and local officials highlighted what restoration efforts have accomplished so far and what is still left to be done.

This segment aired on December 12, 2018.
