Incarcerated Man Charged With Murder Inside Massachusetts Treatment Center

A prisoner held at the Massachusetts Treatment Center in Bridgewater is dead and another incarcerated man is charged with his murder.

The state Department of Correction said MTC staff found 43-year-old Scott Wonoski of Worcester unresponsive in a bathroom at the prison at about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. Wonoski was taken to a local hospital, where he died Wednesday.

Michael Robinson, 42, of Gloucester is charged with murder. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Brockton District Court Wednesday and was ordered held without bail. Prosecutors say video surveillance from the prison shows the physical assault on Wonoski.

Wonoski had been held at MTC since 2019 after his conviction on attempted murder charges.

The Massachusetts Treatment Center houses criminally sentenced men who have been identified as sex offenders.
