Simply put, the weather was beautiful this past weekend. Luckily, it's going to stay nice for trick-or-treating and other Halloween night festivities.

With widespread low temperatures in the 30s over the weekend, areas of frost were hard to miss. Boston recorded its coldest reading of the season thus far, with a low of 40 Sunday morning. Now, our weather pattern over the next couple of weeks will be on the mild side with above normal high and low temperatures. That includes for all spooky celebrations Monday night.

We've been as warm as 81 degrees on Halloween, and as cold as 27. But this year, Mother Nature is providing us with a comfortable evening for trick-or-treating around the Bay State.

As the kiddos get prepped to run around and collect their loot, there's no need to get super bundled up. Highs in the mid-60s this afternoon will slowly drop back into the low 60s around the start of trick or treating, and cool a bit more after sunset (5:38 p.m.) into the upper 50s.

Even by 10 p.m., many cities and towns will still be running in the mid -50s. There won't be much wind either; expect a southwest breeze generally around 5-10 mph.

Skies will be overcast and look a little ominous, but we will avoid raindrops in most communities, unless you plan on being out past 9 p.m. That's when a few isolated showers or sprinkles are possible. Post-midnight, more scattered action will move through and linger into early Tuesday.
