For more than 30 years, "The Christmas Revels" has entertained audiences in New England and across the country. This year, the Revels troupe based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, presents "In Celebration of the Winter Solstice," a mix of folk music, dance, and rituals set in the Tudor England. As the Northern Hemisphere marks the Winter Solstice and the world prepares for Christmas, the Revels join us in the studio to sing, play, and discuss the show that has been an important part of the holiday season for many families for more than three decades.

Guests:

George Emlen, Music Director of The Revels;
Gayle Rich, Executive Director of the Revels;
David Koffin, early instrumentalist in "The Christmas Revels";
Jayne Tankersley, soprano in "The Christmas Revels"

This program aired on December 21, 2001.
