photoPulitzer Prize-winning author Studs Terkel just came out with his eleventh book of oral history, "Hope Dies Last: Keeping the Faith in Difficult Times." He brings together diverse voices — from a pardoned death row prisoner to an Iraqi immigrant — to talk about how hope led them through hardship. Tonight, On Point: 91-year-old chronicler Studs Terkel on his life and hope in America today.

Studs Terkel, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of eleven books of oral history including the bestsellers "Working" and "Will the Circle be Unbroken?" His new book is "Hope Dies Last." He is a member of the Academy of Arts and Letters, and a recipient of the George Polk Career Award and the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. In his 91 years he has been an actor in radio soap operas, a disk jockey, a sports commentator and a television and radio host.
