photoThe GOP delegates have been cheering on their party's most moderate stars since the beginning of the Republican National Convention. There's no doubt that in front of the cameras the crowd is having a grand old time, but backstage, the grand old party is experiencing some tension.

The Republican platform that was adopted on the first night of the RNC, with its strong opposition to same-sex unions and abortion, may have pleased those on the right wing on the party, but moderates and some traditional conservatives wonder where the party's headed.
