All over America tomorrow, after the bird is carved and the Thanksgiving gravy is socked away, millions of televisions will click on — lock on! — to the drama and hoopla and slam dance of NFL football. Tomorrow, it will be Cowboys and Broncos and Lions and more, each with ten big men arrayed around a star quarterback.

But at the top of NFL heap in recent years has been a quarterback who is famous for turning that star power back on the team. Tom Brady, the handsome kid from California and Michigan, has taken the New England Patriots to a monster three Super Bowl championships — and done it with a philosophy that a new biography ties back to Vatican II.

This hour On Point: getting into Tom Brady.

Guests:

Charlie Pierce, staff writer for The Boston Globe Magazine, contributing writer for Esquire, author of the new book
"Moving the Chains: Tom Brady and the Pursuit of Everything"

This program aired on November 22, 2006.
