Military Bloggers And Bloggees, Give Us Your Comments!

On Point will be recording our special Memorial Day show this Thursday at noon about the world of blogging in the military. Since the show will be pre-recorded, we won’t be able to take listener calls during the hour, so we welcome your online questions now.

Are you part of the milblog community? Do you read them? Write them? Do you think it’s safe to let our troops speak their minds from the frontlines?

We’ll talk to military bloggers about the history of this phenomenon — how it began as sarcastic, dissenting soldiers’ voices from the frontlines in Iraq and Afghanistan and then exploded into a community of supportive blogging mothers, fathers and spouses.

Our panel will include former U.S. Army Capt. Matt Gallagher, creator of the milblog, Kaboom: A Soldier’s War Journal and mother-blogger Nancy Davin, who writes for the blog, My Yellow Ribbon.

You can hear the broadcast (and podcast) on Monday, May 30 at 11am EST.

Please post your thoughts, comments, concerns, and questions here. We want to hear from you. We’ll read selected comments on-air.

This program aired on May 24, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
