Mass. Fathers Group Fights For Joint Custody Rights
ResumeWe all know divorce can get ugly. We saw it more 30 years ago when Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman fought over their young son in the film "Kramer vs. Kramer." And while there has been an effort to change the combative nature of divorce proceedings, custody battles can still be particularly painful, especially for the children.
One Massachusetts organization, Fathers and Families, is trying to change the nature of state custody law by setting a legal presumption of joint custody. We take a close look at how that law would play out in family court and what it would mean for children.
This program aired on June 18, 2010.
