Roxbury Native Joins SNL House Band

A few months ago, Roxbury native and Berklee College alum Tuffus Zimbabwe was juggling numerous jobs and sometimes working seven days a week to make ends meet.

But a few weeks ago, everything changed when Zimbabwe got the opportunity of a lifetime: an invitation to join the Saturday Night Live band.

But it wasn't always NBC studio audiences and all-star casts for Tuffus Zimbabwe; the road to his success has been a long one. A piano student since age five, Zimbabwe says he felt his call to music when he was invited to accompany the men's chorus at Grant A.M.E church.

We speak to him about his new job and his music education in Boston
