Your Boston Arts Weekend: A Full Slate03:04

This article is more than 9 years old.

No matter if the weather's beautiful or terrible, there's plenty to do in the Boston arts world this weekend.

Our arts expert, Hilary Hughes of The Weekly Dig, has a few suggestions:

Bella Figura: The Boston Ballet is bringing us some adventurous dance (no sugarplum fairies in this ballet). This dark and mysterious performance starts Thursday and runs through May 8.

Independent Film Festival Boston: This weekend all over Boston, you can check out the latest independent documentary and narrative films, including "Push: Madision vs. Madision," which follows the Madison Park Vocational School basketball team in Roxbury.

Kingsley Flood: The indie band was a hit at SXSW. They don't have a release date yet for their new album, but you can hear them live at T.T. The Bear's in Cambridge on Friday night.

David Maxwell at the Regatta Bar: Hear some blues piano in Cambridge on Friday night. David Maxwell is celebrating the release of his new CD, Conversations in Blue.

This segment aired on April 28, 2011.
