Reports Of Carson Beach 'Gang Fight' May Be Exaggerated

Authorities reportedly cleared over 1,000 brawling teens from Carson Beach in South Boston Monday. State Police say rival gangs used Facebook to organize the melee.

Emmett Folgert, who works with at-risk youth at the Dorchester Youth Collaborative is hearing a different version of events: teens used Facebook to organize a trip to the beach on a hot, sunny Memorial Day, and a few of them got out of hand.
