In New Hampshire Thursday, Mitt Romney ended months of "exploring" and made it official.

"We know we can bring this country back," Romney told a crowd in Stratham, N.H. "I'm Mitt Romney. I believe in America. And I'm running for President of the United States."

Romney made the announcement that he's now a candidate for the White House earlier Thursday on a farm in southern New Hampshire — home to the all important first-in-the-nation primary. Radio Boston's Adam Ragusea was there.

With Romney's announcement, the 2012 GOP field is taking shape. At this point, Romney is the front-runner. But the New Hampshire primary is still some eight months away.

Guests:

  • Andrew Smith, director, Survey Center, University of New Hampshire
  • Adam Ragusea, reporter, Radio Boston

This segment aired on June 2, 2011.
