When the final mission of NASA's 30-year space shuttle program launches from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, it will carrying not only the final crew for the foreseeable future, but also a crew of tiny four legged creatures.

Mary Bouxsein is a scientist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and has the honor of having an experiment on board Atlantis's last flight. But Bouxsein's experiment isn't into the stars above, it's into the bones — in us.
