Former Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein began his new job with the Chicago Cubs by thanking the Red Sox.

During his introduction in Chicago on Tuesday, Epstein told reporters how fortunate he was to work for the Red Sox for the past decade. In particular, he thanked team owners and former manger Terry Francona.

Red Sox are due to name Ben Cherington as the team's new general manager Tuesday afternoon.

Cherington has spent the past three seasons as an assistant to Epstein.
