So what do you get when you mix a pair of percussionists who spend a lot of time in Brazil with another who likes Miles Davis, a cellist who speaks Mandarin, and a lead singer who studied French and Italian and sings in a dozen different languages?

The answer is Pink Martini. The band, originally from Portland, Ore., has been entertaining audiences around the world for more than 15 years with its wide-ranging, vibrant, global repertoire. With lead singer China Forbes still recovering from successful vocal chord surgery, Storm Large,  a Southborough, Mass.  native, will lead the band when it plays Boston's Berklee Performance Center on December 16th and 17th.

Earlier this week, Radio Boston's Anthony Brooks sat down with Thomas Lauderdale, a co-founder of the band,  and Storm Large.

Guests:

  • Thomas Lauderdale, piano, Pink Martini
  • Storm Large, guest vocals, Pink Martini
