The last two members of the state's new Gaming Commission were named Tuesday — retired Appeals Court Justice James McHugh and the business development administrator for the city of Springfield and former Springfield City Councilor Bruce Stebbins.

So now, the heavy lifting begins. The commission must set the framework for expanded gambling in Massachusetts and decide who will get licenses to build the three casinos and one slot parlor. The commission faces tough deadlines, including one in just a few weeks.

Massachusetts Gaming Commission Chair Stephen Crosby joined Radio Boston to talk about the commission and the challenges it faces.

Guest:

  • Stephen Crosby, chair of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission; Dean of UMass Boston McCormack School of Policy and Global Studies

This segment aired on March 21, 2012.
