Thursday, September 6 is primary day in Massachusetts, but only 15 percent of voters are expected to make it to the polls.

The first, fourth and ninth congressional districts have drawn considerable attention for their congressional primaries.

Western Massachusetts' first congressional district has a three-way Democratic primary, with Richard Neal, Andrea Nuciforo, and Bill Shein running against one another. Neal is expected to win, but due to redistricting, he has considerable new territory to cover.

In the ninth congressional district, which has also been subject to redistricting, democrats Bill Keating and Sam Sutter are up against each other. Keating has served as Congressmen for much of the district for two years now.

Lastly, many eyes are focused on the fourth congressional district -- both the Democratic and the Republican primaries. Democrat Joe Kennedy III, though challenged by two opponents, is expected to win. The heated Republican race is among Sean Bielat, Elizabeth Childs, and David Steinhof.
