With the anniversary of the Boston marathon bombing upon us, we speak with someone who counseled both the wounded — and those who cared for them. Reverend John Polk directs the chaplaincy team at Massachusetts General Hospital. His inter-faith group provided spiritual support not just to patients, but also to hospital staff in the weeks and months after the marathon. And he says his team of chaplains found themselves needing a shoulder to lean on, as the trauma of what had occurred — and how it had affected so many people — began to set in.

Guest

Reverend John Polk, the Director of Chaplaincy at Massachusetts General Hospital.

This segment aired on April 14, 2014.
