Boston Symphony Orchestra Returns To China
ResumeLet's travel 12 time zones away to China... where the Boston Symphony Orchestra is currently on a 13-day Asian tour. It's the BSO's second trip to China... its first was in 1979, when the BSO became the first American orchestra to visit communist China after the normalization of U.S.-Sino relations.
That trip was historic, a political and cultural exchange that some say helped rekindle China's love for classical music. China is, of course, an utterly different country today. A world power, and a powerhouse when it comes to raising the next generation of classical musicians.
Guests
Mark Volpe, managing director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra
Larry Wolfe, bass player for the BSO
