This time last week, sports fans and commentators around New England were talking about the beginning of the end of the Tom Brady era — lamenting how old the 37-year-old star quarterback of the New England Patriots is.
But on Sunday, Brady and his teammates silenced many of those doubters. The New England Patriots trounced the Cincinnati Bengals, 43-17.
- "New England seemed to leave its calm, business-like personas at home while remembering this football thing is both a game and a contact sport. The Pats trounced the Bengals with purpose and looked like they had lots of fun doing it."
- "San Francisco travels to St. Louis for Game 1 on Saturday. It's a rematch of the 2012 NLCS, when the Giants rallied from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Cardinals on the way to their second World Series championship in three years."
- "Still barrel-chested 14 years after his final NBA game, Chris Herren holds more vulnerability and strength than many of us will ever know."
