For the fifth year, the Boston Book Festival has distributed thousands of copies of a short story across the city as a way to foster a love of reading and start a city-wide discussion on literature.

This year's selection for the One City, One Story program is a snapshot of familial love, personal transformations and the challenges of aging: "Sublimation" by Roslindale author Jennifer Haigh.

WBUR's Sacha Pfeiffer talks with Haigh about her story and this year's festival.

Jennifer Haigh will speak about her short story in a town-hall-style conversation at the Boston Book Festival on Saturday at 2 p.m.
