There were some smiles in the courtroom Wednesday as the jury in the Boston Marathon bombing trial heard from Joseph Reynolds, the stepfather of Officer Sean Collier. Reynolds said that, even as a kid, Sean played the policeman while his brother played the bad guy.

But smiles turned to tears as Reynolds described how he and his wife, Collier's mother, found their son "shot to pieces" at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Plus, jurors heard about the context of Tuesday's picture of Tsarnaev showing his middle finger to a prison security camera.
