A Fresh Voice For Venture Capital In Boston

C.A. Webb is 39 years old and making waves in the local venture capital scene.

According to CB Insights, venture capital firms in greater Boston invested around $4 billion in new companies last year, compared to the almost $27 billion Silicon Valley venture capitals put into new startups.

While Boston's still very active, it is smaller. For almost 40 years, the New England Venture Capital Association was also decidedly less ambitious, not much more than a club that put on an occasional meet-and-greet.

That is, until three years ago, when C.A. Webb came onboard. If there's anything C.A. Webb has in spades, it's ambition. She wanted to pump some new muscle into the Boston venture capital world and even take on important policies, such as non-compete agreements.
