Harvard Law Professor Randall Kennedy On Black Tape, Student Dissidents

In November, the portraits of African-American Harvard Law School professors were defaced with black strips of tape. Harvard Police are treating it as a potential hate crime.

But Randall Kennedy sees it differently, even though his portrait is among those defaced. In a recent New York Times Op-Ed, Kennedy cautions against overreaction and calls instead for a "calibrated" response.
