General Electric says it's not going to build a new headquarters in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood, after all. The company will sell the property it bought there, and give back some $87 million of tax incentives to the state.

Amazon is also calling off its engagement to New York. Facing community opposition, the tech giant says it won't put a second headquarters in Queens. Amazon says it's moving ahead with its other HQ2 site in Virginia, but won't look for another suitor to replace Long Island City.
