On this April Fool's Day, we look at a parody Twitter account that's gone viral in the medical community.

No joke: the account @EPICEMRparody has been active for only about a month, and already has almost 13,000 followers. The account regularly posts satirical tweets from the perspective of EPIC, a leading electronic medical records system that's familiar to many in the Boston health care community. Many of the tweets are about frustrations with the system.

The doctor behind the account is choosing to remain anonymous — saying only that he works at a major East Coast hospital — whose permission he does not have to be running a parody account.
